How do I log into the Administration area of my web site?

In your web browser, go to www.yourdomain.com/admin/ and enter your username and password in the inputs provided (where yourdomain.com is your domain name, and username & password are the site administration username and password provided by Milestone Web). Always remember to log out afterwards.

How do I log into the User area of my web site?

What is web forwarding?

Web forwarding allows you to forward visitors to your domain name to another site of your choice.

For example if you have a web site at www.yourotherdomain.com and you registered and parked/hosted yourdomain.com with Milestone Web and wanted people to see your site, you could forward www.yourdomain.com to www.yourotherdomain.com so that when someone types www.yourdomain.com they would then see www.yourotherdomain.com

How do I set up web forwarding?

At present, we require you to send us an email requesting forwarding for your domain name. You can do this through the Technical Support page.

How do I upload files?

To upload your web page to the internet you will need to use FTP (File Transfer Protocol). A good way to think of it is as being opposite to HTTP. HTTP is where you download files to your computer from the web, whilst FTP is where you upload files from your computer to the web.

To FTP you will need an FTP client, such as WS_FTP or Cute FTP. There are many clients available, some of which are free. We suggest you search the web to find a program you think best suits your requirements.

You will need the following information (where yourdomain.com is your domain name and username & password are the Site Administrator username and password provided by Milestone Web):

• Host name: yourdomain.com
• Username: username@yourdomain.com
• Password: password
• Directory: mainwebsite_html/
